Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The trial agenda for the Pohuwato riot case faces postponement by the panel of judges.
According to Bayu Lesmana Taruna, JUDGE and Public Relations Officer of the District Court/Anti-Corruption and Industrial Relations Hub Gorontalo 1A, the scheduled session for Tuesday (16/1/2024) included presenting exceptions from several defendants.
“In addition, a sick defendant who missed the previous session could only be examined today with the agenda for reading the indictment,” said Bayu Lesmana when contacted via WhatsApp.
For the next session, Bayu stated that it would take place on Thursday (18/1/2024) with the agenda of responding to the exceptions filed by some defendants.
The postponement and differing trial agendas are due to the delayed reading of the indictment caused by one defendant’s absence last week due to illness.
“Some defendants had their charges read by the prosecutor in a previous session. Additionally, there were exceptions presented by some defendants, while others did not respond to the public prosecutor’s charges,” he explained.
Bayu Lesmana mentioned that the adjustment of the trial schedule was made by the panel to simplify and facilitate the trial proceedings.
“It is expected that next week, witness examinations can be conducted simultaneously on Tuesday, January 23,” he concluded. (*)
