Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – To accelerate human resource development in Bone Bolango Regency, Regent Merlan Uloli initiated the “one village, one scholar” program.
Regent Merlan Uloli shared this idea during his guidance and opening of the Village Apparatus Workshop in collaboration with Gorontalo Open University (UT), at the BPMP Hall of Gorontalo Province, Monday (22/1/2024).
According to Merlan, the “one village, one scholar” program can be accommodated by villages through the village budget (APBDes) in collaboration with universities.
“Universities have offered this program to me. Each village can adjust it according to the budget and the discipline needed,” said Merlan.
Merlan hopes that this program will enhance human resources in villages and increase the number of advanced and self-reliant villages in Bone Bolango.
In the same place, Head of the Community Empowerment and Village Agency (PMD) of Bone Bolango, Suleman Panigoro, stated that enlightening the nation is not only done at the early childhood or school age levels.
He further mentioned that it can also reach officials in villages, districts, and even regencies.
“With good quality education, we can reduce stunting and poverty,” he concluded. (*)
