Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Acting Regent of Bone Bolango, Merlan S. Uloli, observes that Karawo craftsmen are becoming more creative.
Merlan notes the creativity through the combination of eco print and Karawo motifs on fabric, showcased at the Karawo Fashion Show at Lake Perintis Suwawa on Monday (20/11/2023).
He urges craftsmen to continue developing their creativity, envisioning Karawo’s evolution in sync with the times. According to Merlan, this is essential to attract the interest of Karawo enthusiasts, especially millennials.
“The Karawo model must evolve to stay relevant. I hope Karawo becomes not only clothing but also decoration or souvenirs to attract enthusiasts,” expressed Merlan.
Regarding the Karawo Fashion Show at Lake Perintis, attended by government agencies (OPD), Merlan believes it can boost the economic sector in Bone Bolango.
“The Karawo Fashion at Lake Perintis is designed to align with nature, featuring beautiful trees, a lake, and mountains. Additionally, SMEs are thriving due to this Karawo Fashion Show,” he concluded. (*)
