Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The Operational Mantap Brata (OMB) Supervision Team held a parade at the Gorontalo Regional Police field on Wednesday (13/12/2023).
The OMB Supervision Team was led by Police Brigadier General Herman Sikumbang.
The parade was led by the Head of Binlatops Sops Polri, Police Commissioner Abdul Rizal Engahu, and attended by 745 personnel involved in OMB 2023-2024.
The Asops Kapolri’s remarks, read by Police Commissioner Abdul Rizal, expressed appreciation to the Gorontalo Regional Police for the implementation of OMB.
He assessed that the Gorontalo Regional Police had executed OMB well and smoothly.
Rizal also conveyed several directives to the personnel involved in the operation to enhance the implementation of OMB.
Among them, every task force involved in OMB should understand their respective duties.
“The duty of the police here is to solve problems, not to create problems,” said Police Commissioner Abdul Rizal Engahu.
He also suggested enhancing cooperation and coordination with relevant agencies.
This includes conducting dialogical patrols, directly engaging with the community.
“This is a preventive and responsive step in addressing security disturbances during the implementation of OMB,” he explained.
He stated that the purpose of this supervision parade is to assess the readiness of personnel and other supporting elements.
“This is intended to improve the implementation of duties and responsibilities,” he said.
In addition, this parade is also used as a means of evaluation and finding solutions to possible obstacles.
He also emphasized that the National Police must maintain commitment and neutrality and not be involved in practical politics in organizing the 2024 elections.
“I emphasize that all police personnel are committed to maintaining neutrality and not getting involved in practical politics,” he said.
“Do not take sides with any specific group in providing services or other police actions,” he added.
He hopes that every personnel can maintain this neutrality and avoid actions that could reduce public trust in the National Police.
“Avoid actions that can create an impression of non-neutrality, which can reduce public trust in the National Police,” he concluded. (*)
