Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Young entrepreneurs in Gorontalo Regency are encouraged by Bupati Nelson Pomalingo to collaborate with the government, providing valuable insights on how to promote investment and businesses in the region effectively.
The invitation was conveyed by the two-term regent during his speech at the opening of a Training on Business Licensing Risk-Based Management (OSS-RBA) at the Gorontalo Regency level, held at the Dinnar Grand Hall Limboto, Hepuhulawa Village, on Thursday (25/1/2024).
Nelson emphasized that in regional development, they cannot solely rely on government funds. According to him, relying solely on the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) would result in slow development.
Therefore, since being entrusted by the community to lead Gorontalo Regency, he has continuously encouraged investment in the region.
“Because they are also contributors to development. We can see at the beginning of my term as Regent, there was an investment of up to Rp 500 billion every year.
Even up to Rp 5.4 trillion, thus increasing the circulating money in Gorontalo Regency. This means that investment is larger than government funds,” explained Nelson.
Nelson also stated that besides investment, he consistently encourages funds from banks to boost the economy, where entrepreneurs can also apply for loans if they lack capital.
“For example, with the People’s Business Credit (KUR), it can help improve the economy of the community. This means that business actors, if they rely solely on government assistance, will be limited. Also, relying on personal funds, so I encourage through banking,” he clarified.
During the event, Nelson also mentioned that to support investment, the Gorontalo Regency Government has established a new work unit to streamline various services related to investment, namely the One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (Dinas PTSP).
“Therefore, an agency was established to support investment, with the hope of faster licensing,” concluded Nelson. (*)
