Information gathered by this media, the incident occurred in Kayubulan Village, Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency, precisely in front of one of the private campuses near the Gorontalo Police Headquarters.

According to the victim’s statement, that evening he and his friend went to the campus because they heard his friend’s sibling had a problem.

“My friend and I went there immediately, when we arrived, it turned out the problem had been resolved by apologizing to each other, so the three of us went home,” said the victim.

When they were in front of the campus, the victim continued, he was intercepted and taken by a police officer who was wearing a complete uniform and carrying a firearm.

“As soon as he got out of the car, he shouted not to run, saying if we ran, we would be shot. Then he approached us and immediately grabbed my collar with his left hand,” said the victim.

“I asked, what’s going on? He said don’t resist. I said, commander, I’m not the one fighting,” continued the victim.

When taken to the guard post, the victim claimed he was assaulted with the butt of a firearm and hit his left eye.

“The commander said why are you resisting me, I’m a police officer. After saying that, suddenly the gun hit my left eye. It hurt so much, sir, I immediately cried,” said the victim sadly.

Seeing the victim’s condition, the police officer invited him to go to the Hasri Ainun Habibie Regional General Hospital, but the victim refused.

The victim claimed he only asked the perpetrator to buy antibiotics and eye drops, then he went straight home to his family’s house in Dutulanaa Village, Limboto District.

Upon arrival at home, the victim, who was still in pain, suddenly vomited blood.

He then asked his friend to contact the police who allegedly assaulted him to inform them of his condition.

“Not long after, Commander Taufik came to pick me up with a motorcycle and I was taken to Dunda Limboto Regional General Hospital. But after being examined, I was then directed to the Police Hospital,” said the victim.

When about to be taken to the Police Hospital, the victim said, the police officer suggested not to disclose the actual incident.

“This commander suggested that I tell them that my eye was hit by a collision, not a weapon, I said, why is that commander,” said the victim.

From Dunda Limboto Hospital, the police officer stopped at the Gorontalo City Police Headquarters to pick up his three colleagues. The victim was then taken to the Police Hospital using a car.

Meanwhile, Riska Masilu (33) as the victim’s family, when interviewed, expressed objection to the incident that befell her sibling.

“We object because our child suffered an injury to his eye. We have reported this incident to the Gorontalo Regional Police,” said Riska.

This incident received an immediate response from the Chief of Gorontalo Regional Police, Irjen Pol Angesta Romano Yoyol.
