Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – There was a special moment in the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of Gorontalo Province held in the Meeting Room of the Gorontalo Provincial DPRD on Tuesday (12/5/2023).
The meeting was attended by the first Acting Governor of Gorontalo, Tursandi Alwi. At the age of 73, he still appears energetic.
The plenary session was also attended by Acting Governor of Gorontalo Ismail Pakaya, Head of the PKK Movement Team Fima Agustina.
Acting Secretary of the Provincial Government Budiyanto Sidiki was also present, along with members of the Forkopimda and regents and mayors or their representatives.
In his speech, Ismail Pakaya recounted the celebration of Gorontalo’s anniversary, which was previously commemorated every February 16th.
This was because on that date, the first Acting Governor of Gorontalo, Tursandi Alwi, was inaugurated by the Minister of Home Affairs.
However, after lengthy discussions, the Provincial Government officially changed the anniversary of Gorontalo Province since 2015.
In the Plenary Session of the DPRD, the anniversary of Gorontalo Province, which was previously celebrated every February 16th, was changed to December 5th.
“For this reason, we should express our gratitude and give the highest appreciation to all elements of the Gorontalo community,” said Ismail.
“Especially to the figures who have fought diligently so that Gorontalo Province can stand as the 32nd province in Indonesia,” he added.
On that occasion, Ismail also presented several achievements that Gorontalo Province has attained in these 23 years. (Release)
