Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The loud chant of “Torang So deng Sawaludin” echoed during the campaign of the United Development Party (PPP) in the Wumialo Subdistrict, Central City District, Gorontalo City, on Sunday (1/14/2024).
The shout did not come from the campaign spokesperson (Jurkam) present at the campaign. Instead, it came from hundreds of residents attending the event.
“Torang so deng Sawaludin, torang so deng dia,” shouted Wumialo residents, accompanied by takbir.
As known, Sawaludin is a PPP candidate for the Gorontalo Province electoral district (Dapil) for the Indonesian Parliament (DPR) with the number 3. Sawaludin was nominated by the PPP to reclaim the PPP seat in Senayan that has been taken by other parties for two periods.
“For ten years, we have been fasting, and now is the time for us to reclaim that seat for Sawaludin,” said Meys, welcomed by the residents’ takbir chants.
Meys also apologized for Sawaludin’s absence, as he is currently attending another important event.
“On behalf of Sawaludin, I apologize for his absence because he is currently at the PPP Central Board (DPP PPP),” explained Meys, the campaign team leader for Sawaludin. (*)
