Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The Secretary of the Gorontalo City Government, Ismail Madjid, affirms that at the age of 23, the province of Gorontalo is advancing and developing steadily.
He stated that this progress can be observed through numerous infrastructure developments, economic growth, improved societal well-being, and advancements in various sectors.
“Alhamdulillah, gradually, the well-being of the people in Gorontalo is improving. Therefore, we should be grateful for this, especially all the residents of the Gorontalo Province,” said Ismail when interviewed by several journalists after the plenary session held by the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of Gorontalo Province on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of Gorontalo Province, Tuesday (5/12/2023).
He explained that the progress and development of Gorontalo Province can also be gauged from the Human Development Index (HDI), which continues to grow.
According to the latest data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Ismail Madjid continued, the HDI of Gorontalo Province has reached 70 points. For Secretary Ismail Madjid, this indicates that the human resources indicators in Gorontalo are in good condition.
“Because if it has reached 70, it is already in a good position,” he expressed.
Similarly, the poverty rate has been decreasing year by year. He mentioned that the poverty rate in Gorontalo Province is now less than 15 percent.
“I think the programs that have been implemented by Gorontalo Province, especially Gorontalo City, include several road segments such as Andalas Street.
Of course, there are also parts of the program that have been allocated for Gorontalo City, alongside activities for health, education, and other sectors,” he concluded.(*)
