Hargo.co.id – Men’s singles badminton player, Jonatan Christie, clinched victory against Hong Kong’s representative, Ng Ka Long Angus, with scores of 21-13, 21-7 in the ongoing first round of the India Open 2024 at K. D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, on Wednesday (17/1/2024).
Since the first game, there was a back-and-forth exchange of points between Jonatan and Angus as both often made mistakes, resulting in the score being tied at 6-6. However, ‘Jojo’ managed to lead 11-8 at the interval.
After the interval, Jonatan seemed to find a good rhythm of play, with solid defense as well. As a result, he continued to lead with a score of 18-9 before wrapping up the victory with a score of 21-13.

In the second game, Jonatan appeared more dominant. He was able to counter all of Angus’s attacks, even taking an 8-0 lead at one point. At the interval, Angus seemed overwhelmed as Jonatan led 11-2.
Angus struggled even more after the interval, finding it difficult to find accuracy in his attacks. Jonatan continued to lead until the score reached 15-4, eventually sealing the victory with a convincing score of 21-7.
