Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – All civil servants in the secretariat of the council (Setwan) are reminded to maintain neutrality during the general elections (Pemilu).
The reminder was conveyed by the Secretary of the Gorontalo District Parliament, Yahya Podungge, during the weekly assembly.
Maintaining neutrality during the democratic process, according to Yahya, is manifested by not engaging in practical politics.
“We have entered the political month. I remind all employees in the council secretariat not to participate in campaigning or support any presidential or legislative candidates. As civil servants, we must obey these rules,” Yahya emphasized.
He acknowledges and is very aware of the close relationship between civil servants and politicians. Moreover, civil servants in the Setwan environment. According to Yahya, this closeness is because some of the Setwan civil servants’ duties involve assisting legislators who are, in essence, politicians in every activity.
“Although civil servants are close to politicians, I believe Setwan staff can still maintain their neutrality,” Yahya asserted.
In addition to reminding about neutrality, Yahya also consistently reminds employees assigned to administrative tasks to carry out their duties according to regulations to avoid problems in the future.(*)
