Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – RD, accused of breach of contract, attended a trial at the Gorontalo District Court on Thursday (1/4/2024).
RD, a candidate for the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) in Bone Bolango electoral district Kabila Cs, was accompanied by his legal representative, led by Muhammad Fadhly Gella, SH., MH., C.P.Arb.
After the trial, RD rejected the plaintiff’s lawsuit filed by Yopi Abas through his legal representative, Rio R. Ruchban, SH., M.H., CPLC., CPLCE. RD stated that he shouldn’t be the only one sued; his former employee, FB, should also be sued.
“Why is this lawsuit directly aimed at me? What does Mrs. Yopi Abas mean?” RD questioned.
As a result, RD was puzzled as he was the only one sued, while FB was not.
“It should be FB who is sued, FB who used my name to borrow money that I don’t know when and how much,” said RD, who refused to mention his staff’s full name.
RD also mentioned that FB had been fired by him a few years ago.
“I’ve fired (FB). Since 2022 or 2021,” RD revealed.
In a separate interview, Yopi Abas stated that RD’s statements did not align with the events, leading to her suffering a loss of IDR 430 million. According to her, FB contacted her to borrow money on RD’s behalf.
“When FB came to borrow money from me several times, I confirmed with him (RD). And he admitted that he indeed wanted to borrow money from me. Besides confirming over the phone, there is also evidence of chats about this debt,” Yopi explained.
Yopi deeply regrets RD’s accusation towards his staff who owed money to him.
“It’s a pity if his employee is made a scapegoat. In fact, the employee has repeatedly helped him (RD) to obtain a loan from me,” Yopi expressed.
Meanwhile, Yopi Abas’s legal representative, Rio Ruchban, challenges RD to report FB to the authorities if FB has indeed misused his name in this debt issue.
“If his name is truly misused, why doesn’t he report defamation? Instead, he blames the substance of our lawsuit,” Rio said with a smile.
The trial itself proceeded smoothly. For the next hearing, the Gorontalo District Court’s single judge will await documentary evidence from the plaintiff on January 11, 2024. (Editorial Team)
