Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The Gorontalo City Police will summon witnesses and the accused in a suspected theft case that occurred on December 15, 2023, last week.

This was conveyed by the Chief of Gorontalo City Police, Commissioner Ade Permana, through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner Leonardo Widharta, on Monday (18/12/2023).
“Yes, we received the report last Friday, December 15. The report was made by a man with the initials GB (37), a resident of East District, Gorontalo City,” said Commissioner Leonardo Widharta.

He revealed that they have already examined the complainant to obtain his statement.
“Soon, we will also summon witnesses and the accused ZA to get their statements,” added Commissioner Leonardo.
Earlier, GB reported a suspected theft case on behalf of the financing company PT. SMS Finance Branch Gorontalo.
He claimed that he was visited by three men who identified themselves as employees of PT. SMS Finance Branch Gorontalo.
During the meeting on December 13, 2023, the three individuals asked GB to come to the Finance office on December 15, 2023, for a contract transfer.
The contract transfer was necessary because the car in his possession had three months of payment arrears at PT SMS Finance. However, the contract was not in GB’s name but in someone else’s name.
GB stated that upon arriving at the PT. SMS Finance office on December 15, 2023, the contract transfer process did not take place.
Instead, the three individuals allegedly took away the car with its contents.
To the media, GB admitted that he only found out that the three men were not SMS Finance employees after being informed by the company’s staff.
“The employees told me that ZA and his friends were not Finance employees but external parties. Only then did I know that they were not employees,” said GB.
He estimated that the valuables inside the car amounted to Rp 15 million, not including land certificates and personal documents inside the wallet and the car’s dashboard.
Unfortunately, Hendra Rumagit, the Head of the PT. SMS Finance Gorontalo Branch, was not in the office when approached by Hargo.co.id at their address on HB Jassin Street, Gorontalo City.
“The Branch Head is not in the office; he’s gone out. Please come back tomorrow morning around half past nine,” said one of the PT. SMS Finance staff to Hargo.co.id on Monday (18/12/2023).
“The unit head is also out. Please come back tomorrow morning,” he added.
He then provided the contact number for PT. SMS Finance Gorontalo, 0812-9289-XXXX, to be contacted. (*)
