Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – As the backbone of the family, Female Heads of Household (PEKKA) often face challenging conditions.

As a representative of the people, Nasir Giasi, the Chairman of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of Pohuwato Regency, is seriously committed to alleviating the burden on PEKKA in Pohuwato Regency.

Recently, during his first-term session recess held in the Buntulia District, the young Golkar politician from Pohuwato once again distributed food assistance to more than 102 Female Heads of Household in the Buntulia and Marisa Districts.

The aid included one sack of quality rice, five trays of eggs, and cooking oil.

Nasir emphasized that the distributed rice is of premium quality. Before distributing it, he personally ensured the quality of the rice received by these Female Heads of Household.

“This is high-quality rice; the sack is yellow. I’ve checked it myself; the rice in these yellow sacks is premium rice,” expressed Nasir Giasi.

Nasir Giasi, also the Chairman of the Golkar Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of Pohuwato, stated that he intentionally included Female Heads of Household in this recess, simultaneously receiving the assistance from the aspiration program he advocated.

According to Nasir, these women must be given serious attention by the Local Government and the DPRD.

“They are resilient women who are the pillars of their families. The Local Government and the DPRD must not overlook them; there must be attention, one of which is through this assistance,” stated Nasir Giasi.

Nasir, who is also the chairman of the Public Participation Forum for the welfare of women and children (Puspa) in Pohuwato Regency, knows well what Female Heads of Household experience.

Therefore, Nasir is considering ways for them to become independent, have a steady income through business mentoring programs, SMEs, and other ventures that have a positive impact on Female Heads of Household.

“In Torosiaje, Popayato, PEKKA there has a mini fuel station business. They take turns on duty, and the profits are shared equally. In the future, we also want Marisa and Buntulia to be independent like that,” said Nasir Giasi.

He also hopes that the distributed aid can help Female Heads of Household meet the needs of their families. In the future, he will continue to strive for an increase in the aid received.

According to him, the DPRD and the Local Government have a responsibility to ensure the sustainability of the lives of these family pillars.

Through this recess, he also invites the community to support the 2024 General Elections (Pemilu). Nasir sees the elections as a people’s celebration that should be welcomed with a happy and joyful heart.

“As we approach the elections, let’s maintain conduciveness, preserve friendships, and not let the elections divide us,” Nasir urged. (*)
