Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Scattered trash around Limboto Tower is a concern for nearby residents. They claim that the situation is uncomfortable for activities in one of the bustling centers in Gorontalo Regency.

In addition to spoiling the scenery, residents say that sometimes a foul odor emanates from the trash piles, disturbing motorists passing through the area.
Field observations reveal that the Limboto Tower area is a bustling center with many street vendors selling their goods.

According to Dandi Subino, a local resident, some of the trash comes from irresponsible street vendors.
“Some vendors do not provide trash bins, so buyers dispose of trash indiscriminately,” he said on Monday (11/12/2023).
Dandi mentioned that most of the trash consists of plastic drink containers.
“Even using a container would work, as long as the trash is not scattered, making it easier for officials to collect,” he added.
Dandi stated that the trash accumulation around the Limboto Tower area is due to the actions of residents who dispose of trash indiscriminately.
“In my opinion, it’s about the community’s awareness of how to maintain our environment to keep it clean, especially in this busy area,” he said.
“If the location is dirty and smelly like this, visitors won’t want to come. Ultimately, it’s the vendors who suffer,” said Dandi.
He hopes there will be awareness from all parties, both sellers and visitors or buyers, as well as everyone involved, to pay attention to cleanliness in the area.
“Especially if there are already public trash disposal facilities, please utilize those facilities properly,” he concluded. (*)
