Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Two men with the initials DTPO (27) and BP (39) were apprehended by officers from the Narcotics Investigation Unit of Gorontalo City Police, as they were found in possession of two packages of methamphetamine.
The two suspects were apprehended on January 31, 2024, in Tanggikiki Village, Sipatana District, Gorontalo City.
The Head of the Narcotics Unit of Gorontalo City Police, AKP Ricky P Parmo, explained that the discovery of the two suspects involved in methamphetamine abuse occurred after receiving information about suspicious transactions from residents living around Tanggikiki Village.
Upon receiving the information, the police immediately conducted an investigation, which led to the identification of two individuals displaying suspicious behavior.
“Due to their suspicious behavior, we promptly apprehended these two individuals for questioning,” said AKP Ricky P Parmo.
He further explained that not only were statements obtained from the individuals, but the officers also conducted a search of their belongings.
“Through the search, we found a cigarette wrapper containing two suspicious packages believed to be methamphetamine,” explained Ricky.
“The evidence, two plastic bags taped with black tape, was found inside the cigarette wrapper held by DTPO and BP during the examination witnessed by the public,” he added.
Ricky further stated that after conducting an investigation, the two suspects, DTPO and BP, were officially named as suspects and detained in the Gorontalo City Police detention center since February 1, 2024.
In addition to the two packages of methamphetamine, the police also seized two mobile phones during the arrest.
“Both are charged under Article 112 paragraph (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) letter (a) of the Criminal Code,” concluded the Head of the Narcotics Unit.(*)
