Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The exhibition titled “A Tribute to Riden Baruadi” serves as a tribute from various artists and creatives in Gorontalo, spanning different fields, to honor the late Riden Baruadi.

He significantly contributed to the development of art, the environment, and culture in Gorontalo.

Sururiatul Wahidah, a talented painter from Pohuwato Regency, also participated in the exhibition that started on November 30.

As a realistic painter from Taluditi Subdistrict, Wahidah, known affectionately as Wahidah, feels grateful for the opportunity to take part in various activities during the “A Tribute to Riden Baruadi” exhibition.

Throughout the week at the Riden Baruadi Gallery, she acknowledges receiving direct guidance from mentors who are Gorontalo’s artists.

She even had the chance to paint a tribute to the late Riden Baruadi under the guidance of experienced artists.

“I’m very happy. Thanks to the committee members who assisted me there. Even after returning, they continue to guide me, and they will send better painting materials. I feel fortunate to have this valuable opportunity,” said Wahidah when contacted by Hargo.co.id.

She also expressed gratitude to Abdullah Kadir Diko, a member of the Pohuwato Regency DPRD, who facilitated her participation in the exhibition at the Riden Baruadi Gallery on Raja Eyato Street, Lomba B, South City, Gorontalo.

“Of course, many thanks to Kak Diko and his wife for helping me from departure until I returned home. They assisted with everything during my stay there for 7 days, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused to them during my time there,” she concluded.

With art exhibitions like the one held at the Riden Baruadi Gallery, she hopes that it will continue to advance the art scene in Gorontalo.

“Hopefully, art in Gorontalo will flourish in the future, with more enthusiasts because Gorontalo’s artists are talented and remarkable. Their art is extraordinary and meaningful.

It would be a shame if the world doesn’t see them. For the Riden Baruadi Gallery, I hope there will be more art enthusiasts visiting and appreciating the works of Gorontalo artists in the gallery,” she added.

“As for me, I dream of painting the faces of great people and presenting the artwork directly to them. I dream of traveling around Indonesia and meeting remarkable and famous individuals,” she concluded.(*)
