Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Corn farmers in North Gorontalo Regency (Gorut) are facing difficulties in purchasing fertilizers.

This is due to the delay in the disbursement of people’s business credit (KUR) funds expected to be released in November 2023, which has yet to materialize.
“According to the farmers, the awaited disbursement of KUR funds from the banking sector has not been realized,” stated Andi Matawang, a North Gorontalo Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) member from the NasDem party, who recently received complaints from the farmers.

After dialoguing with the banking sector, Andi explained that the KUR funds have not been disbursed because some farmers have not fulfilled their obligations.
“However, there are also farmers who have completed their obligations. They are the ones hoping that the KUR funds would be disbursed last November,” added Andi.
To prevent this issue from prolonging, Andi suggests that both farmers and the KUR distributing banks enhance communication and resolve their respective rights and obligations.
“Farmers are expected to pay attention to their obligations, and banks should objectively assess the situation so that farmers without issues can obtain business credit,” he concluded. (*)
