Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – A total of 176 orphans in the Telaga sub-districts, including Telaga, Tilango, Telaga Biru, and Telaga Jaya, received assistance from the Gorontalo Regency Government.
The symbolic handover of the assistance took place on Monday (8/1/2024) at the Tinelo Village Office, Telaga Biru Sub-District, and was conducted by the Regent of Gorontalo, Nelson Pomalingo.
Nelson expressed his hope that the recipients of the aid would match the available data, emphasizing the importance of accurate information to prevent the aid from going to the wrong recipients.
“Because this data is provided by the village, sub-district, and department heads. I want all this data to be correct because they will receive assistance again in 2024,” he explained.
The aid for orphans was handed out in the form of cash, with each recipient receiving Rp 600,000. Despite the relatively small amount, Nelson expressed his desire for the aid to orphans to continue.
“I also want to give encouragement to the beneficiaries because this assistance is limited to Rp 600,000. But, that spirit is very important. That’s why I come to encourage them to succeed and study well,” said Nelson.
He hoped that the community would appreciate the assistance provided. Nelson urged that the distributed aid should help meet the educational needs of orphaned children.
“I am also very grateful to the post office, which has been a partner in the distribution of social assistance for orphans,” he concluded. (*)
