Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – To anticipate the rise in crime during Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Gorontalo Police, particularly the narcotics investigation unit, conducted raids on several nightlife venues in the Gorontalo Regency.
At least three cafes were the targets of the police’s operation to create conditions (Cipkon) this time. They were located in the Limboto Sub-district, Limboto Barat Sub-district, and Tilango Sub-district.
In addition to conducting raids, the police also carried out urine tests on cafe visitors to identify the misuse of illegal drugs. During the urine test, officers found one cafe visitor who tested positive for consuming drugs containing ifarsyl.
“All visitors at the three locations we raided underwent urine tests. We found one visitor who tested positive for consuming drugs containing ifarsyl,” said the Head of Narcotics Unit of the Gorontalo Police, Inspector Sucipto Amboy, SH.
“But because there is a doctor’s prescription, we did not proceed with further legal action,” Sucipto added.
Sucipto explained that although no further legal action was taken against the cafe visitor who tested positive for consuming drugs containing ifarsyl, they continue to monitor the individual.
“We still monitor the person. This is for the prevention of the misuse of drug doses,” explained Sucipto, a former Head of the Mobile Brigade Team at the Gorontalo Regional Police.
“We will continue to intensify this activity during the Christmas and New Year celebrations to reduce crime rates, especially in terms of the misuse of alcoholic beverages and narcotics,” he concluded. (*)
