Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The Asset Division of the North Gorontalo Regency Financial Body (Gorut) refuses to provide an explanation regarding the auction process of the North Gorontalo Regent’s official car.
As is known, the official car, a Toyota Fortuner purchased in 2019, is being auctioned in a closed manner. The latest information obtained indicates that the auction process begins with an appraisal.
“Once the appraisal results are available, the closed auction will be conducted,” said Ahmad Hidayat Hamid, Head of the Asset Division of the North Gorontalo Regency Financial Body, in a recent interview.
The closed auction of the regent’s official car is reportedly specifically for Regent Thariq Modanggu. This information was not denied by Ahmad Hidayat Hamid. According to him, it is permissible because it does not violate any provisions or regulations.
However, Ahmad Hidayat has recently become silent when questioned by several journalists about the progress of the auction.
“I’m sorry, sir, I cannot provide the information you are asking for,” said Ahmad while raising both hands above his head and then rubbing his face.
From Ahmad’s demeanor and the expression on his face, it seems there is a burden for him regarding the auction process.
Ahmad’s attitude has become the subject of discussion among various circles. As expressed by Tutun Suaib, a regional observer. He emphasizes that the region, especially the relevant agencies, must provide an explanation regarding the regional asset disposal plan.
“To our knowledge, there is no such thing as a closed auction; everything must be transparent. Especially for the processes and all the requirements related to the disposal of regional assets,” Tutun asserted.

“This seems like the region is playing hide-and-seek, hiding the asset disposal process from beginning to end. There should be announcements through the media regarding this,” he said while hoping that this issue receives a logical explanation in accordance with the latest regulations. (*)
