Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – A house in Gorontalo City was raided by the police from the Criminal Investigation Unit of Gorontalo City Police on Saturday (December 16, 2023) at around 1:00 PM local time.
From this raid, the police apprehended a laborer identified as DP (26), who also acted as an online dark lottery (Togel) gambling operator.
In addition to arresting DP, the police also seized evidence of online Togel gambling, including mobile phones and cash suspected to be gambling bets.
The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Gorontalo City Police, Commissioner Leonardo Widharta, explained that the uncovering of this Togel gambling operation resulted from an investigation based on public complaints about a house frequently used for Togel gambling.
“Almost every day, we receive information about social issues. And this time, it happened in a house,” said Commissioner Leonardo Widharta.
“After investigating the report, we found a laborer caught red-handed conducting Togel gambling,” Leonardo added.
Meanwhile, after apprehending DP and collecting evidence, the police immediately took the suspect to the Gorontalo City Police Headquarters for further investigation.
“For now, the suspect has been detained at the Gorontalo City Police Headquarters. We will continue with further investigation to determine the legal proceedings against DP,” concluded Leonardo. (*)
