Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Regent of Pohuwato, Saipul A. Mbuinga, and representatives of the Pani Gold Project welcomed a group of Umrah pilgrims who had just arrived from the holy land of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia on Sunday (24/12/2023).

The group of 17 Umrah pilgrims consists of mosque imams, preachers, and Quran teachers from various sub-districts in Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province. They were sponsored by the management of the Pani Gold Project.

“On behalf of the regency government, I extend congratulations to all pilgrims who were sent off by the Assistant for Government and Social Affairs, Mr. Arman Mohamad, ten days ago,” said Regent Saipul in his speech at the Grand Mosque of Pohuwato, Blok Plan, Marisa.

The Regent added that the people of Pohuwato, especially the Umrah pilgrims, should be grateful to Allah SWT and express gratitude to the Pani Gold Project for assisting in sending pilgrims to the holy land of Mecca and Medina.

“This shows the company’s commitment to our region. It’s not just a commitment to physical development in Pohuwato, but also development from the spiritual and religious aspects. For the pilgrims, congratulations on reuniting with your families and continuing your activities,” he added.

Separately, Mahesha Lugiana, the External Affairs Manager of the Pani Gold Project, congratulated the Umrah pilgrims who had performed their religious duties in the holy land.

Mahesha hoped that the Umrah pilgrims returning from Mecca and Medina would continue to spread positive news and convey messages of peace to the community.

“We should all follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, who was sent to the earth to spread mercy to the universe,” he added.

Not forgetting, Mahesha also emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between hablum minallah (connection with Allah) and hablum minannas (connection with people).

In addition to performing Umrah and other sunnah prayers, the Umrah pilgrim group from Pohuwato also had the opportunity to visit and pilgrimage to other places such as mosques or other historical sites.

In Jakarta, the Umrah pilgrims also had the opportunity to visit Istiqlal Mosque and the National Monument in Central Jakarta.

One of the Umrah participants, Ramlin Daud, a preacher from Popayato Sub-district, expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Pani Gold Project for the opportunity to perform Umrah in the holy land.

“Alhamdulillah. This is an extraordinary experience. I not only heard and saw the rituals in the holy land but also felt and shed tears of joy,” he expressed.

Ramlin also expressed appreciation to the travel agency Balda, which handled everything very well. He hoped that Balda could open a branch in Pohuwato and provide the best service to the community. (*)
