Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – For the Acting Regent of Bone Bolango, Merlan S. Uloli, the role of teachers cannot be replaced by technological devices, even though learning activities can now take place through technology that allows for remote interaction.

“As role models in the formal learning process, teachers play a crucial role in the development of students’ characters.
In contemporary terms, they shape the Pancasila Student Profile,” expressed Merlan at the 7th Workshop “Harvesting Learning Results” of the 8th Teacher Education Program in Gorontalo Province in 2023 in Bone Bolango District, at the PGRI Bone Bolango Building, Saturday (2/12/2023).

He emphasized that teachers are both actors and drivers of human resource development, with significant roles and responsibilities, especially in shaping the character of a generation with noble values and excellence in their respective fields.
Therefore, Merlan hopes that prospective teacher educators have competencies in self-development and the development of others, learning development, school management, and school development.
“We, the Bone Bolango District Government, have great expectations for all of you to graduate from this program.
Subsequently, you can all contribute to realizing national education standards to ensure the quality of education in Bone Bolango District as part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, where prioritizing students is the main orientation,” Merlan hoped.
Merlan also stated that all prospective teacher educators are expected to mobilize a learning community for fellow teachers in schools. They should become agents of change for other teachers in the learning process at school.
“The most important thing is to encourage the leadership of their students by setting an example and becoming agents of transformation in the educational ecosystem, shaping the Pancasila Student Profile,” concluded Merlan Uloli.(*)
