Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The Gorontalo Regional Police Public Relations Division utilizes radio to communicate the Lilin Otanaha operation plan.

The media is employed to inform the public about the security strategy for Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 (Nataru).

This information was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations, Police Commissioner Desmont Harjendro, through the Public Relations Officer, First Inspector Heny Mudji Rahayu, on Thursday (12/21/2023).

During the Interactive Dialogue event, First Inspector Heny stated that the Gorontalo Regional Police and regional offices have collaborated with various parties, including the TNI (Indonesian National Army), relevant agencies, and other Kamtibmas partners.

This synergy aims to ensure the success of the centralized police operation with the code ‘Lilin Otanaha 2023’ throughout the Gorontalo Province.

First Inspector Heny revealed that the operation, scheduled for 12 days, will commence from December 22 to January 2, 2024. The implementation emphasizes preventive activities supported by early detection and law enforcement.

“The goal is to ensure the public’s sense of security before and after celebrating Christmas and New Year from all potential threats,” he explained.

He added, “Also, to prevent disruptions during worship, homecoming, tourism, and year-end celebrations.”

First Inspector Heny explained that the operation’s targets include Potential Disturbances, Threshold Disturbances, and Real Disturbances.

The operation targets individuals, goods, locations, as well as Christmas Mass worship, tourism, cyber patrols (virtual world), and the flow of homecoming and return.

“The combined security personnel involved from the Gorontalo Regional Police and regional offices amount to 2,208 personnel,” said First Inspector Heny.

The personnel consist of 1,460 police officers, 357 military personnel, and 391 individuals from relevant agencies, spread across 3 posts.

These posts include 17 Security Posts, seven Service Posts, and four Integrated Posts.

“The security objects include places, transportation and shopping, churches, recreational tourism objects, and year-end festivities,” stated First Inspector Heny.

In conclusion, he urged the public to participate in securing the celebration by refraining from activities outside their homes. “It is advisable to celebrate with family and the local community,” he said.

“Assuredly, the TNI-Polri, local government, and other stakeholders will always work together, synergizing to secure the Nataru celebration,” he concluded.(*)
