Hargo.co.id, SOUTH SUMATRA – Two residents in Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province, dueled using sharp weapons (Blades). Eventually, the two residents involved in the altercation turned out to be a father and his son.
The fight between the father named Firdaus and his son Yosep Anggara was recorded in an amateur video and has since circulated widely.
As cited from detikSumbagsel, the duel between the father and son was confirmed by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Muba Police Resort AKP Bondan Try Hoetomo.
“Yes, indeed, those who fought using sharp weapons were indeed a father and his son,” said Bondan on Friday (26/1/2024).
According to Bondan, the incident took place at their residence, precisely on the roadside of Dusun III, Epil Village, Lais District, Muba, on Friday (19/1/2023) around 14.00 WIB.
“After checking, it turns out that the incident occurred a week ago and only went viral now,” he said.
Bondan added that after successfully gathering information, the police immediately went to the scene. Upon arrival, the police questioned Firdaus directly on Thursday (25/1/2024).
“After the members of the Police Substation confirmed directly with the person involved (Firdaus), that the fight actually occurred because his son (Yosep) refused to be taken to RS Ernaldi Bahar (RSJ) in Palembang,” he said.
Bondan mentioned that no one was injured during the incident. The incident itself allegedly occurred because Yosep’s illness worsened. Yosep suffers from a mental disorder, causing him to lose control and attempt to attack his father.
“No one was injured. The son is suspected to have a mental disorder and refused to receive treatment at the hospital,” he explained.
Bondan continued to say that the family deeply regrets the viral video of the duel between the father and son. The family requests all social media platforms to delete the duel video if it has already been uploaded.
“The family also disagrees with the video going viral. They also ask all parties to delete the video, which is actually a family matter and has already been resolved within the family,” he said.(*)
