Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The Gorontalo District Court resumed the trial of a breach of contract case involving a legislative candidate, identified as RD, from the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of Bone Bolango on Thursday (11/1/2024). The session’s agenda was to hear witness testimonies.

Three witnesses were presented by the plaintiff in the trial presided over by Judge Hascahyo. They were Fadila Budianto, Kasman, and Sabrina Ayu Lestari Latjuba.

Of the three witnesses, Fadila Budianto’s statement was particularly noteworthy. Fadila confirmed that RD had indeed asked him to borrow funds from Yopi Abas, the plaintiff. He also revealed that all the money obtained from the loan was handed over to RD.

During the trial, Fadila candidly disclosed that RD not only borrowed money from Yopi but also from other individuals, with varying amounts.

“I was asked by the concerned party to borrow money from Mrs. Yopi. It’s not just Mrs. Yopi, sir. There were also others. Some were in the hundreds of millions, and some were in the tens of millions. However, only a few were settled by RD,” Fadila explained.

Fadila’s statement contradicts RD’s previous interview with the media. RD claimed that he never instructed Fadila to borrow money from Yopi Abas and accused Fadila of using his name without permission.

“FB (Fadila Budianto) should be sued; FB used my name to borrow money that I don’t know when and how much,” RD said in an interview last week after the trial.

After the trial, media attempted to confirm Fadila’s statement with RD, but RD refused to comment. Despite an earlier agreement for an interview in front of the Gorontalo District Court, RD headed straight to his car without providing any statements.

Meanwhile, Kasman, one of the plaintiff’s witnesses, confirmed that RD had borrowed money from Yopi. However, Kasman was uncertain about the exact amount. He also claimed to be a victim of RD, stating, “I am also a victim, sir. RD borrowed Rp 100 million from me, but only Rp 50 million was returned. I gave all the proceeds from the sale of my cattle to RD. I repeatedly went to RD’s office to ask for the return of my money, but received no response. My house is far, sir, in Bongomeme. I am tired of going back and forth to the city to meet RD.”

Returning to the trial, after hearing the testimonies of the witnesses, Judge Hascahyo adjourned the trial and scheduled the next session for the following week to hear testimonies from the defendant’s witnesses. (Editorial Team)
