Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Acting Regent of Bone Bolango, Merlan Uloli, emphasizes the need for technical agencies not only to pursue the fulfillment of financial reports (SPJ) but also to actively combat extreme poverty.

Merlan made this statement while leading a coordination and evaluation meeting (Rakorev) for the acceleration of extreme poverty eradication (PPKE) held at the regent’s official residence on Tuesday (1/9/2024).

“All technical agencies involved in the extreme poverty eradication program must commit to reducing the extreme poverty rate. Don’t just focus on meeting financial obligations or fulfilling reports,” emphasized Merlan Uloli.

He also stressed that eliminating extreme poverty requires innovation and creativity from technical agencies.

During the meeting, Merlan revealed the number of poor people in Bone Bolango. According to him, based on Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), there are around 12 thousand poor residents in the easternmost region of Gorontalo.

“This figure requires precision because not all of these poor individuals will receive assistance from us. As a leader, I cannot be fully immersed in the community that is the target of the program. Therefore, technical agencies that can reach the community, even in small numbers, must ensure that our assistance has an impact on the people,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, Roswaty Agus, the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda Litbang) Bone Bolango, who also attended the meeting, explained that generally, people classified as poor have a monthly expenditure of Rp322 thousand per person.

“Therefore, in 2024, there are three policy focuses: reducing the burden of community expenditures, increasing community income, and minimizing poverty pockets. These objectives are impossible to achieve without cooperation from technical agencies,” stated Roswati. (*)
