Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The community of Gorontalo Regency has reason to be proud under the leadership of Regent Nelson Pomalingo.

Various achievements and awards have been earned under the guidance of this professor-led regency.
Not only that, significant improvements have occurred in various sectors.

This is a testament to the performance of the government officials from the village to the district level, and most importantly, the role, support, and contribution of the community.
One of the sectors experiencing growth is the economy. According to available data, the economy in Gorontalo Regency has reached 3.93 percent from 2021 to 2023.
“The economic growth in Gorontalo Regency has risen from -0.01 percent to 2.43 percent and finally to 3.93 percent,” said Regent Nelson during the first 2024 morning assembly at the Gorontalo regent’s office yard on Tuesday (01/02/2024).
Interestingly, Nelson stated that Gorontalo Regency contributes significantly to the economy of Gorontalo Province, accounting for 31.40 percent.
In addition to the economy, the Human Development Index (HDI) in Gorontalo Regency for the year 2023 has also increased, reaching 70.37.
According to Nelson, this figure has increased by 0.86 points (1.24 percent) compared to the previous year’s achievement of 69.51, during the period from 2020 to 2023.
“The HDI in Gorontalo Regency has increased on average by 1.11 percent per year,” explained Regent Nelson.
Moving on to the poverty sector, Nelson Pomalingo revealed that the number of poor people in Gorontalo Regency from 2016 to 2023 has been consistently decreasing.
The poverty rate in Gorontalo Regency in March 2023 decreased by 0.23 points from March 2022, from 17.71 percent to 17.48 percent.
Similarly, Nelson mentioned that regarding the labor force in Gorontalo Regency, in August 2023, there were 225,503 people, an increase of 24,300 people compared to the situation in August 2022.
The Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) also increased by 2.42 percent, reaching 72.89 percent.
Nelson also highlighted the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in August 2023, which stood at 2.48 percent, experiencing an increase of 0.65 percent compared to August 2022 and a 0.36 percent increase compared to August 2021.
“Our Statistical Development Index (SDI) is regrettable; last year our value was only 1.31, or less, but we continue to strive to improve it,” explained Nelson.
Nelson hopes that these achievements will motivate all civil servants to work more diligently, maintain discipline, improve performance, and foster good working relationships with superiors, subordinates, and colleagues.
“To all government agencies down to the lowest levels and the villages, which are an extension of the regency government, always work to the maximum and maintain high discipline, uphold ethics, because our tasks in the future will become increasingly challenging with various complex issues that we must face wisely,” he concluded.
