Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Acting Governor of Gorontalo, Ismail Pakaya, urges companies to accommodate and recruit disabled employees.
He conveyed this message during the commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, held at the Bele Li Mbu’i Building on Sunday (3/12/2023).
“The Manpower Office should monitor the implementation of regulations requiring companies to recruit a minimum of three percent disabled employees,” said the Acting Governor.
‘”Conduct inspections and, if necessary, impose sanctions on companies that do not comply with these regulations,” Ismail emphasized.
The Acting Governor desires that individuals with special needs become integral to inclusive and sustainable development in the region.
He mentioned that the government has affirmed the recruitment of disabled employees, both in the public and private sectors.
“I request the Manpower and Transmigration Agency and the Human Resources Development Agency to implement and promptly socialize this affirmative action to companies throughout Gorontalo Province,” he added.
“Similarly, in the government sector, two percent of positions are designated for them, and it must be fulfilled.”
Ismail encourages people with disabilities to continue honing their potential.
Therefore, he specifically instructs all Manpower Offices to allocate funds to train the skills and talents of disabled individuals. (Release)
