Hargo.co.id GORONTALO – The Pohuwato Regency government, through the Public Works Department, is currently undertaking the construction of the Taluditi Dam. Unfortunately, the project, valued at 13 billion rupiahs, is considered ineffective and has adverse effects on the community.
This was conveyed by Harton Hamim, a resident of Kalimas village, during his expression of grievances in the PKB Faction Chairman’s community gathering, Abdullah Kadir Diko, on Wednesday (12/6/2023).
According to Harton, as beneficiaries, the construction of the Taluditi Dam should provide positive benefits to the community, especially farmers who need a water supply for agricultural land.
However, the current sentiment among the community is the opposite, observing the chaotic state of the construction.
“I have reported that the dam is leaking, incomplete, and the disposal area is not concrete. We, the people, are the ones affected. As ordinary people, we see that the construction is useless for us. It needs to be reviewed,” expressed one community figure from Kalimas Village.
He also lamented that the situation had been previously reported to the relevant department, but, according to Harton, it seemed to be disregarded. Through this gathering of the Regional Representative Council member, he hopes that the project will receive serious attention.
“We, the beneficiaries, have reported to the Department, but there is no response. It’s a pity, sir; this dam has many beneficiaries. For Deda Kalimas alone, there are 400 hectares of agricultural land using it,” he concluded.
In response to the residents’ complaints, PKB Faction Chairman Abdullah Kadir Diko personally visited the site to inspect the project.
Alongside community figures, the young PKB politician was accompanied by several heads of departments from the PUPR Department of Pohuwato Regency.(*)
