Hargo.co.id, SOUTH SULAWESI – The Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB) of Makassar City expresses support for the Nusantara Cooling System (NCS) operation conducted by the police to ensure a safe and peaceful 2024 election. They appreciate the efforts made to maintain neutrality in the military and police.
Arifuddin Ahmad, the Chairman of FKUB Makassar, extends gratitude for the declaration of neutrality by the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) in the context of the peaceful 2024 elections. “FKUB, along with religious leaders, will support the neutrality of the TNI and Polri,” said Arifuddin at the Makassar City Police Headquarters on Thursday (30/11/2023).
“Hopefully, this can set an example for an honest and fair election. We will coordinate together to realize a safe and peaceful election,” he added.
Brigadier General Yuyun Yudhantara, Deputy Chief of the Nusantara Cooling System, mentioned that during the declaration, they also conducted social activities. They distributed 4,000 aid packages and provided assistance with boreholes in three areas facing water shortages.
“This preemptive activity is to promote a peaceful election,” he said. “The community must maintain unity and not be divided, only different in election choices,” added Brigadier General Yuyun.
The Declaration of Neutrality by the TNI-Polri for the Peaceful 2024 Election was read by the Chief of the Makassar City Police, Commissioner Mokhamad Ngajib, and attended by all members of the TNI-Polri.
In their declaration, the TNI-Polri members expressed their commitment to maintaining and upholding the principles of neutrality, avoiding conflicts of interest, and actions that benefit or harm any election participant.
Furthermore, they pledged to work together to prevent election violations and political bribery, ensuring synergy to maintain the conducive implementation of the elections. (*)
