Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Economic development extends beyond urban areas for the Gorontalo Regency government. In Dulamayo Village, they foster economic growth through an annual year-end festival.
The event, held from December 29 to December 31, 2023, was officially opened and closed by the Gorontalo Regency Head, Nelson Pomalingo.
“This is an opportunity to promote and elevate Dulamayo’s reputation as a hub for community economic development and agriculture-based SMEs, tapping into Dulamayo’s untapped potential,” said Nelson.
He highlighted that Dulamayo’s peak not only boasts breathtaking natural beauty but also serves as a crucial conservation area, acting as the “lungs” for the Limboto, Telaga, Tapa, and Gorontalo City regions.
“From this perspective, Dulamayo can be considered Gorontalo’s gem, offering multifunctionality as a conservation area supporting and protecting Gorontalo. It also serves as the source of the Bulango River, flowing through Tapa, Telaga, and reaching Gorontalo City,” he explained.
Nelson added that Dulamayo has great potential to be developed into an eco-tourism area, agro-tourism, or educational and natural laboratory tourism.
“Hopefully, Dulamayo’s peak will continue to flourish in the future with ongoing infrastructure improvements to support economic development in this region,” concluded Nelson. (*)
