Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – Former Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) District Executive Board in Gorontalo, Syam T. Ase, firmly states readiness to fight injustice in Gorontalo District.
Syam claims to have sought permission from the party and is willing to risk his position to combat what he perceives as injustice.
“I will fight; I will risk my position as the chairman of the DPRD to defend village officials whose salaries are unpaid and civil servants whose TPP is not paid,” said Syam during his speech at a campaign event in Botumoputih Village, Friday (26/1/2024).
“Today, before the people of Botumoputih Village, I am the chairman of the DPRD until August 2024. If issues arise, God willing, I will address them; I will monitor,” he emphasized.
He urged the audience to unite and support Sawaludin as the DPR-RI Legislative Candidate and Nikma Husain as the DPRD Candidate for the Gorontalo District in the Tibawa-Pulubala electoral district from PPP.
“If you want change, on February 14, send Ms. Nikma to the Gorontalo District DPRD, and we ask all of you to unite to vote for Mr. Sawaludin as a member of the DPR RI,” said Syam.
“If you desire change, it’s time to decide now,” he added.
He added that Botumoputih Village indeed has issues, even residents have come to the Gorontalo District DPRD to complain about the dismissal of village officials in the area.
“Residents came to my office at the DPRD, complaining about the situation in Botumoputi Village. I need to convey that appointing village officials is the prerogative of the regent,” said Syam.
However, he emphasized that appointing and dismissing village officials should not involve injustice. Dismissals, he said, must go through proper procedures.
“Appointing and dismissing village officials should not involve injustice. There are steps that must be followed. We have reminded them,” explained Syam.
The Chairman of the Gorontalo District DPRD also said that if the signature of the village officials is attached to the position of the Chairman of the DPRD, then the status of the Acting Village Head of Botumoputi has been reinstated.
“But let it be, because it is not the end of the world. I need to convey that the situation in Botumoputi Village is just a small event compared to the situation in Gorontalo District,” he said.
He also urged the people not to worry. He will stand with the people and has obtained permission from PPP cadres.
