Hargo.co.id, GORONTALO – The performance of the Family Planning Counselor Association (IPeKB) in Gorontalo City has garnered praise from the Chairman of the IPeKB Provincial Chapter in Gorontalo, Afrilianto Hida.
Afrilianto’s commendation is not without reason. According to him, the IPeKB’s performance has had many positive impacts, such as a decrease in stunting, family planning services, the implementation of the prideful Kencana program, and other initiatives.
“Whenever there is a program related to family planning services, concerning the reduction of stunting, they are always prioritized compared to other regencies. I do not deny the performance of other regencies; they also perform well. However, the IPeKB in Gorontalo City is always cohesive.
Even as the chairman of the provincial chapter, I am very envious of Gorontalo City. Their cohesion is truly extraordinary,” said Afrilianto during an interview at the sidelines of the IPeKB Gorontalo City Muscab event for the 2024-2028 period on Wednesday (29/11/2023) at Shava Beach.
Afrilianto hopes that the performance of IPeKB Gorontalo City can be maintained by the elected officials in the upcoming Muscab, supported by the Population Control, Family Planning, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection Agency (DPPKB-P3A) of Gorontalo City.
“I hope that in the future, the IPeKB branch in Gorontalo City can choose and deliberate effectively.
Thus, it can produce leaders who can transform again, be more cohesive, and have a unified command,” he said while emphasizing that IPeKB is not like other professional organizations, such as the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI), which has expertise.
“But we indeed need to improve human resources, strive to be better. This has been conveyed by the chairwoman during the national congress in Surabaya.
And, of course, in the future, IPeKB will fight to obtain legal standing from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, so that IPeKB can be born as a professional organization,” he concluded.
In line with Afrilianto, the Chairman of the Advocacy Task Force for Movement and Information of the BKKBN Representative in Gorontalo Province, Abdul Wahab Hadju, also appreciates the maximum performance of IPeKB Gorontalo City. According to him, this can be seen from various aspects or indicators.
“Of course, objectively, we evaluate counselors from various aspects, certainly from their performance, the achievements of programs in their area, and discipline,” stated Abdul Wahab Hadju.
He also congratulated the outgoing members of IPeKB Gorontalo City who have been able to mobilize their colleagues as field counselors in Gorontalo City.
“Our hope is that in this Muscab, IPeKB friends will choose a chairman who can mobilize their colleagues to achieve the program targets assigned to family planning counselors in Gorontalo City,” he added.
In the same place, the Secretary of DPPKB-P3A Gorontalo City, Suleman Abdullah, mentioned that the Muscab of IPeKB Gorontalo City is held because the current leadership term has ended.
He hopes that the Muscab will strengthen the camaraderie among the IPeKB officials and members.
“Our hope is that this consultation is carried out with the spirit of family and truly demonstrates emotional intelligence.
The one who will be elected, God willing, should have the capacity, capability, and competence,” he said.
He also conveyed that the work of IPeKB is a social job and can be considered as advocating for women.
“So, by sitting together in solidarity, it is also to enhance their competence. I must also mention that in this activity, many moral messages were conveyed, both from the chairman of the provincial chapter and the BKKBN, which are truly extraordinary,” he concluded. (*)
