The benchmarking study regarding the development of local Electronic Catalog (e-Catalog) was carried out in West Java, which is considered more advanced in local e-catalog development.

The Secretary of the Gorontalo Provincial Government, Sofian Ibrahim, stated that West Java had already implemented the e-catalog and it is being used in all government agencies (OPD).

“We chose West Java mainly because in several aspects, especially concerning this e-Catalog, they are more advanced,” said Sofian.

“We hope that all levels of our administration can learn from and emulate what West Java Provincial Government has done as a region with the best local e-catalog management,” he added.

According to him, the management of the e-catalog is also related to human resource development.

He mentioned that the lack of skilled human resources in operating applications and supporting equipment is a challenge faced.

“At the meeting, what was crucial was actually preparing our human resources. That’s why we, through BPSDM, are conducting various training programs,” he explained.

Regarding this matter, they also plan for the Gorontalo Procurement Bureau to intern in West Java.

“So, based on the information, processes, stages, and others, we will try to implement them in Gorontalo,” Sofian clarified.

Meanwhile, the Acting Secretary of West Java Province, Taufik Budi Santoso, stated that they have been using e-catalogs since 2019.

Currently, there are 3,053 providers registered with a total of 63,163 products in 46 displays available on the local e-catalog.

“The key to the high increase in local e-catalog is related to TKDN for providers,” Taufik revealed.

“We continue to encourage, especially local businesses, to be invited and facilitated to enter the e-catalog,” he added. (Release)
