Hargo.co.id, JAKARTA – The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) held a graduation ceremony for 32 toddler family development (BKB) cadres throughout Indonesia.
These 32 BKB cadres were selected from each province and will serve as social agents to accelerate the reduction of stunting.
Gorontalo Province was represented by Rukmin Mohamad, a BKB cadre from Gorontalo City. Becoming the best BKB cadre and participating in the graduation ceremony is not as easy as many people might think.
There are several stages that Rukmin Mohamad, from the Tenilo Subdistrict, had to go through.
In addition to attending the “Great Parents” class activities 11 times in a hybrid format,
Rukmin had to go through the selection process at the provincial level in Gorontalo, competing with BKB cadres from other regions.
“Mrs. Rukmin also underwent an interview by the Head of BKKBN and the team,” said Eladona Oktamina Sidiki, Head of the Population Control, Family Planning, Women’s Empowerment, and Child Protection Agency (DPPKBP3A) in Gorontalo City.
The IPDN alumna expressed pride in Rukmin Mohamad’s achievements. Moreover, she mentioned that the graduates were honored by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy.
“The award was directly given by Minister Muhadjir Effendy at the BKKBN Gebyar BKB 1,000 HPK (First Day of Life) event held yesterday (Tuesday, December 12, 2023),” added Eladona.
For Eladona, Rukmin Mohamad’s achievements are something to be proud of for the Gorontalo City Government. She hopes that this achievement will serve as motivation for other BKB cadres.
“Especially for Mrs. Rukmin, I hope the award she received can be applied to her duty station to continue advocating and educating the community about the importance of preventing stunting by promoting clean and healthy living habits (PHBS), encouraging parents to take toddlers to health posts regularly, including pregnant women. Also, continue to provide education related to parenting and development for toddlers,” Eladona concluded. (*)
