Hargo.co.id, NORTH SUMATRA – The Sumatra Utara (Sumut) Regional Mobile Brigade (Brimob) erected tents in front of the Bakti Raja Sub-District Office, Humbahas Regency.
Sumut Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya, through Public Relations Director Commissioner Police Hadi Wahyudi, stated that the tents are intended for victims of landslides.
Additionally, the erected tents are used for the local community and serve as an examination venue for students undergoing school exams.
“This is a multi-purpose tent to assist the community affected by landslides in Humbahas Regency,” he said on Wednesday (12/6/2023).
Hadi revealed that currently, there are around 30 students taking semester exams. With the establishment of these tents, it is hoped that students will not miss the examination process, as school buildings have also been affected by landslides and floods.
“Although the exam is located in a multi-purpose tent, it does not diminish the enthusiasm of the children to take the semester school exam,” he explained.
Hadi admitted that the Sumut Police are still actively searching for landslide victims in Humbahas Regency who have not been found.
Currently, according to Hadi, the Joint Search and Rescue Team, consisting of Basarnas and the TNI-Polri, is still conducting searches in the waters of Lake Toba.
“The search is being carried out by combing the shores of the lake and also by diving,” he concluded. (*)
